Vaiśampāyana said, : Then, when she was ready to depart, in extreme grief, Kṛṣṇā went to the famous Pṛthā and took her leave from her and the other ladies who were there.
वैशम्पायन ने कहा, : फिर, जब वह जाने के लिए तैयार हुई, अत्यधिक दुःख में, कृष्ण प्रसिद्ध पृथा के पास गए और उससे तथा वहां मौजूद अन्य महिलाओं से विदा ली।
She paid her respects and showed homage to each, as each deserved, and then got ready to go. At that, great lamentations were heard from the inner quarters of the Pāṇḍava-s.
उसने अपना सम्मान व्यक्त किया और हर किसी को सम्मान दिया, जैसा कि हर कोई हकदार था, और फिर जाने के लिए तैयार हो गई। उस समय पाण्डवों के अन्तःपुर से महान् विलाप सुनाई देने लगा।
Kuntī was extremely miserable on seeing that Draupadī was about to leave. She uttered these words, in a voice that was choked with grief.
यह देखकर कि द्रौपदी जाने वाली थी, कुंती अत्यंत दुखी हुई। उसने दुःख से भरी हुई आवाज में ये शब्द कहे।

"O child! Do not grieve because of this great calamity that has befallen you. You know very well the dharma for women and you also possess good character and conduct.
"हे बालक! तुम पर जो महान विपत्ति आई है, उसके कारण शोक मत करो। तुम स्त्रियों के प्रति धर्म को भली-भांति जानते हो और तुम अच्छे चरित्र और आचरण के स्वामी भी हो।"

हे मधुर मुस्कान वाले! मुझे तुम्हें अपने पतियों के प्रति कर्तव्यों के बारे में निर्देश देने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। आपके गुणों और सदाचार से दो कुलों की शोभा बढ़ी है।

The Kuru-s in the assembly hall are fortunate that they have not been burnt down by your rage. O unblemished one! Blessed by my thoughts about you, travel on a route that has no difficulties.
सभा भवन में कुरु लोग भाग्यशाली हैं कि वे आपके क्रोध से भस्म नहीं हुए हैं। हे निष्कलंक! आपके बारे में मेरे विचारों से धन्य हूं, ऐसे मार्ग पर यात्रा करें जिसमें कोई कठिनाई न हो।

भाविन्यर्थे हि सत्स्त्रीणां वैक्लव्यं नोपजायते गुरुधर्माभिगुप्ता च श्रेयः क्षिप्रमवाप्स्यसि
The minds of good women are not distorted by what is inevitable. You are protected by the dharma of your superiors and you will swiftly obtain prosperity.
अच्छी महिलाओं का दिमाग अपरिहार्य चीज़ों से विकृत नहीं होता। आप अपने वरिष्ठों के धर्म से सुरक्षित हैं और आप तेजी से समृद्धि प्राप्त करेंगे।
When you live in the forest, always keep an eye on my son, Sahadeva, so that his mind does not sink under this great calamity that has come."
जब तुम वन में रहो तो मेरे पुत्र सहदेव पर सदैव दृष्टि रखना, ताकि उसका मन इस आई हुई महान विपत्ति में न डूब जाए।”

तथेत्युक्त्वा तु सा देवी स्रवन्नेत्रजलाविला शोणिताक्तैकवसना मुक्तकेश्यभिनिर्ययौ
The queen replied, "So shall it be." She went out, her hair undone, in a single garment that was stained with blood and marked with her flowing tears.
रानी ने उत्तर दिया, "ऐसा ही होगा।" वह अपने बाल खुले हुए, एक ही परिधान में बाहर गई, जो खून से सना हुआ था और उसके बहते आँसुओं के निशान थे।
As she wept and left, Pṛthā followed her, in grief. She saw all her sons, deprived of their ornaments and garments.
जैसे ही वह रोती हुई चली गई, पृथा दुःखी होकर उसके पीछे चली गई। उसने अपने सभी पुत्रों को अपने आभूषणों और वस्त्रों से वंचित देखा।
Their bodies were covered in the skins of ruru deer and their faces were lowered in shame. They were surrounded by delighted enemies and mourning well-wishers.
उनके शरीर रुरु मृग की खाल से ढके हुए थे और उनके चेहरे शर्म से झुके हुए थे। वे प्रसन्न शत्रुओं और शोकाकुल शुभचिंतकों से घिरे हुए थे।
Driven by affection, she approached all her sons in that state. In words of great lamentation, she spoke to them and their relatives.
स्नेह से प्रेरित होकर, वह उसी अवस्था में अपने सभी पुत्रों के पास पहुंची। उसने बड़े विलाप भरे शब्दों में उनसे और उनके सम्बन्धियों से बात की।

कथं सद्धर्मचारित्रवृत्तस्थितिविभूषितान् अक्षुद्रान्दृढभक्तांश्च दैवतेज्यापरान्सदा
"You have always followed good dharma. You have always been adorned by fortitude in conduct. You have never been mean. You have always been firm and devoted. You have always been respectful of the gods.
"आपने हमेशा अच्छे धर्म का पालन किया है। आप हमेशा आचरण में धैर्य से सुशोभित रहे हैं। आप कभी भी मतलबी नहीं रहे हैं। आप हमेशा दृढ़ और समर्पित रहे हैं। आप हमेशा देवताओं का सम्मान करते रहे हैं।
Why should this calamity befall you? Why should there be this reversal in fortune? I do not see whose envy and wickedness have led to this.
यह विपत्ति तुम पर क्यों पड़े? भाग्य में यह उलटफेर क्यों होना चाहिए? मुझे समझ नहीं आता कि किसकी ईर्ष्या और दुष्टता के कारण यह हुआ।
Because I have given birth to you, all this may be because of my ill fortune. So despite possessing supreme qualities, you are suffering the oppression of limitless grief.
चूँकि मैंने तुम्हें जन्म दिया है, यह सब मेरे दुर्भाग्य के कारण हो सकता है। अत: आप सर्वोच्च गुणों से युक्त होते हुए भी असीम दुःख का अत्याचार भोग रहे हैं।

कथं वत्स्यथ दुर्गेषु वनेष्वृद्धिविनाकृताः वीर्यसत्त्वबलोत्साहतेजोभिरकृशाः कृशाः
You do not lack in valour, strength, courage, energy and fortitude. But thin of body, and deprived of your riches, how will you live in that desolate forest?
आपमें शौर्य, बल, साहस, ऊर्जा और धैर्य की कोई कमी नहीं है। परन्तु शरीर से दुबले और धन से वंचित आप उस उजाड़ वन में कैसे रहेंगे?
If I had known that you were destined to live in the forest, after Pāṇḍu's death, I would not have brought you down from the Śataśṛṅga Mountains to Gajasahrya.
अगर मुझे पता होता कि पांडु की मृत्यु के बाद तुम्हारा जंगल में रहना तय है, तो मैं तुम्हें शतश्रृंग पर्वत से गजसह्र्य में नहीं लाता।
I think your father was fortunate. His mind was set on austerities and wisdom. His mind was set on going to heaven before he encountered misery because of his sons.
मुझे लगता है कि आपके पिता भाग्यशाली थे। उनका मन तपस्या और ज्ञान में लगा हुआ था। अपने पुत्रों के कारण दुख का सामना करने से पहले उनका मन स्वर्ग जाने का था।
I think that Mādrī, knowledgeable in dharma and virtuous in every way, was fortunate. She had the foresight of knowing what was going to happen and attained supreme salvation.
मैं सोचता हूं कि धर्म की ज्ञाता और हर तरह से सदाचारी माद्री भाग्यशाली थी। उसे यह जानने की दूरदर्शिता थी कि क्या होने वाला है और उसने सर्वोच्च मोक्ष प्राप्त किया।

रत्या मत्या च गत्या च ययाहमभिसंधिता जीवितप्रियतां मह्यं धिगिमां क्लेशभागिनीम्
Love and thoughts and purpose determined my decision. Āla-s on my love for life. I suffer all this misery because of that."
प्यार, विचारों और उद्देश्य ने मेरे निर्णय को निर्धारित किया। जीवन के प्रति मेरे प्रेम पर आल्हा। उसी की वजह से मुझे यह सारा दुख झेलना पड़ रहा है।”

एवं विलपतीं कुन्तीमभिसान्त्व्य प्रणम्य च पाण्डवा विगतानन्दा वनायैव प्रवव्रजुः
When Kuntī lamented in this way, the Pāṇḍava-s comforted her and showed her homage. Unhappily, they then set out for the forest.
जब कुन्ती ने इस प्रकार विलाप किया तो पाण्डवों ने उसे सान्त्वना दी और आदर प्रकट किया। दुखी होकर वे फिर जंगल की ओर निकल पड़े।
Vidūra and the others, who were themselves aggrieved, consoled the afflicted Kuntī. Explaining the reasons, and thus suffering even more, they slowly led her to Kshatta's house.
विदुर तथा अन्य लोगों ने, जो स्वयं दुखी थे, पीड़ित कुंती को सांत्वना दी। कारण बताते हुए, और इस प्रकार और भी अधिक पीड़ित होते हुए, वे उसे धीरे-धीरे क्षत्ता के घर तक ले गए।

राजा च धृतराष्ट्रः स शोकाकुलितचेतनः क्षत्तुः संप्रेषयामास शीघ्रमागम्यतामिति
King Dhṛtarāṣṭra's mind was immersed in grief. He asked Kshatta to come to him at once.
राजा धृतराष्ट्र का मन शोक में डूब गया। उन्होंने क्षत्ता को तुरंत अपने पास आने को कहा।
So Vidūra went to Dhṛtarāṣṭra's house. In great anxiety, Dhṛtarāṣṭra, lord of men, questioned him.
तो विदुर धृतराष्ट्र के घर गए। बड़ी चिंता में मनुष्यों के स्वामी धृतराष्ट्र ने उनसे प्रश्न किया।
